Covid Safety Protocol
Dear Valued Member of our QDS Family,
Given the most recent developments around the coronavirus, I want to share with you that we, at Quality Dental Smile, take the health and well-being of our patients and staff very seriously. Please be assured we are keeping a close eye on updates with local and state health departments so we can be prepared to take all proper precautions to make sure everyone feels safe. Our hearts go out to all affected.
To date, we have NO team members or patients that have a known exposure to, symptoms related to or confirmation of the coronavirus.
While The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and related government agencies have allowed businesses to operate, we are staying vigilant and continue to do our best to provide you with the best and safest service. As you all know, we have always implemented the required recommendations by the CDC for dental office infection control. We care about your safety and work hard to prevent the spread of infection.
Before you enter the examining room, all surfaces, such as the dental chair, dental light, drawer handles and countertops, have been cleaned and disinfected.
Offices cover some equipment with protective covers, which are replaced after each patient.
Non-disposable items like the dental tools are cleaned and sterilized between patients. Disposable dental tools and needles are never reused.
Infection control precautions also require all dental staff involved in patient care to use appropriate protective equipment such as gloves, masks, gowns and eyewear when needed.
After each patient, disposable gloves and masks are thrown away. Before seeing the next patient, everyone on the treatment team washes their hands and put on a new pair of gloves.
And given the current situation, we have increased our processes to keep our facilities a safe and welcoming environment. We have instructed our Staff to take extra sanitation measurements, not only in their work field but also around the perimeters of the office.
Your well-being has always been important to us. That’s why infection control procedures are in place at our dental office.
While we do our part, we kindly ask that you do your part.
We are asking to limit the amount of family members coming to appointments, we ask for the patient and one responsible party only. We kindly ask that please refrain from touching your face, and everyone wash their hands before and after leaving the facility.
Please call our office at your earliest convenience and we would be more than happy to reschedule your appointment if:
- feeling ill, have flu-like symptoms (cough, runny nose, sore throat and/or fever), or otherwise feel unwell, stay home and rest (don’t forget to notify your physician).
- you, or someone you are in close contact with, have recently traveled to one of the countries with Level 3 or 4 Travel Restrictions (https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories.html/ ) within 30 days of their scheduled dental appointment.
- if you have been exposed to someone else who was diagnosed with COVID-19, or who was quarantined as a precaution, please wait for 30 days until you see your dentist to make sure you have not caught the coronavirus. We would also request for a medical clearance before you come to our office.
This will help reduce the risk of spreading your illness. If you are healthy, there’s no need to cancel your regularly scheduled dental appointment.
We will continue with our normal business hours for the time being, however, normal business hours could change based on how this situation progresses within our community.
It is important to be united as a community and help each other out. Panic and fear will only create more turmoil. Stay calm and safe. We hope that this is only temporary.
Sending you blessings and healing.
Best Regards,
Dr. John Domingo and Staff
NOTE:
Here are a few things you can do on your own to help keep yourself and those around you healthy:
• Wash your hands frequently, or use a hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent ethyl alcohol.
• Avoid touching your face, eyes or nose to reduce the spread of germs.
• Cover your cough or sneeze with your elbow. Infections like the coronavirus spread through the tiny droplets in coughs and sneezes.
• Stay home if you feel sick. If you have flu-like symptoms (cough, runny nose, sore throat and/or fever), please call your physician immediately.
Note: Visit the CDC’s website for the latest information on COVID-19.
